Renegade Dix 57 Renegade was built in 1991 by Hout Bay Yachts, South Africa.
Dudley Dix designed and supervised construction. Vessel’s original name was “Majulie”.
Renegade just completed a transatlantic from Florida to Spain. Her steel construction gives you a sense on strength the moment you step aboard. Renegade is a proven blue water cruising boat. She has made at least 6 Atlantic crossings and 3 complete circumnavigations with previous owners. Renegade is currently wintering in Vigo, Spain. She is well equipped and very capable of taking you anywhere.
Staterooms: Three staterooms that sleep six. Master cabin is forward with queen sized mattress, head and sink. Foreword bathroom has a washing machine. Two aft cabins are of identical design and have their own head, shower, and closet. Three separate A/C systems. Three electric heads.
Galley: Force 10 propane stove (2017). Two refrig/freezers. The first frig is 12 volt, the second is a massive 220 volt. Corian counter tops and a double sink.
Hull: Renegade is constructed of high quality steel. Following thickness: Keel sides 6mm, 4mm hull, and 3mm deck. Vessel weight 34 tons.
Electronics: Multiple GPS’s (5), Mazu Skymate Satellite link (2019) allows weather downloads, email and text messages. Raymarine autopilot with new Lewmar Mamba motor (2023). Raymarine depth, speed, and wind instruments. Vesper AIS (class A, send and receive, anchor alarm). Two EPIRPs. Radar. Two VHFs. Two AM/FM stereos. Phillips TV with DVD player. 750 watt power inverter.
Engine: Cummins 150hp 4BT3.9 diesel. Fuel consumption 3.3 mpg at 1600 RPM’s producing 7.5 knots. 4.7mpg at 1250 RPM’s producing 6.5 knots. Total fuel capacity 205 gallons. Cruising range at 6.5 knots 963 nautical miles. Fuel mileage includes one hour of generator run time per day. Without generator usage mileage will be slightly better.
Generator: Panda Mini 12. Twelve Kw. Less than 250 hours. Installed Sept 2018.
Sail inventory: Lee mainsail (2009) with Mack Pack sail cover. Genoa 130% roller Furler, Cutter stay sail 100%. Large full symmetric spinnaker with spinnaker pole. Smaller symmetric spinnaker. All sails are in good condition and many seasons left in them.
Ground tackle: 135 pound Bruce with 275 feet of 1/2 inch chain. Additional anchor inventory includes large Fortress and Danforth anchors. LaFrance Falkon Windless.
Dinghy: Avon 12 foot hard bottom inflatable. Mercury 15hp motor.
Extras: SK Watermaker. Bauer air compressor for dive tanks. Addmotor folding electric bike. Spare Velvet drive transmission. Water pumps for A/C units. Tools. Large rope inventory.
Renegade is currently wintering in a boat yard in Vigo, Spain.
